The National Organization of Professional Black Natural Resources Conservation Employees will host its 1st Black Farmers Expo at the Hilton Garden Inn, formerly known as the Old King Edward Hotel, downtown Jackson, Mississippi November 30 – December 2, 2013. The EXPO will demonstrate to landowners that they are an integral part of the evolving changes that will take place in the 2013 Farm Bill and we know that you have been a strong champion for landowners in the south and in the 2nd district. The NOPBNRCSE position is to work with partners to increase program participation of the socially disadvantaged and underserved landowner in agriculture eligibility, benefits and opportunities. The organization also, seeks to reach out to others that advocate building relationships and partnerships to streamline its agenda in moving us into the future with a positive outlook. The theme of this Expo is “Re-Framing the Struggles of Minority Landownership in Urban and Rural America”. We are very excited about the Expo and the opportunity to reach out to our members, partners and supporters in assisting the organization in the reframing and restructuring the process of bringing landowners into the new century of farming and protecting the land. Mrs. Vivian Dickson is the Planning Chair and point of contact for this Expo and she will be available to assist you with any questions that you may have. Mrs. Dickson can be reached on 240-461-6896 or Vivian.Dickson@wdc.usda.gov.
